Accent color adds life to the room! Accessories like cushions, lamp shades, picture frames, table cloths, flowers and curtains can be used for accent colors.

An accent need not necessarily be a strong contrast color for successful effects. Any color from the opposite half of the color wheel will suffice.

Neutral colors can be accented by bright and vivid colors easily. Two contrast colors used in equal intensity will intensify each other even more!

Lighter tones and less intense colors are easy to balance.

A darker room with less light can take more intense contrast colors as they get muted easily. But this may not be possible in a well-lit room!
