56. Little Miss Muffet

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away

Little Miss Muffet was a young girl named Patience Muffet. Dr. Muffet (1553-1604) was her step father and a famous etymologist who wrote the first scientific catalog on the insects found in Britain.

One day while Miss. Muffet was eating her breakfast, one of the spiders from her stepfather’s collection came running to her. The frightened Miss. Muffet ran away!

There is much relief and joy as this is just a simple rhyme about a frightened child-with no sinister undertones and scary allusions!

  3. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is wonderful blog. A fantastic read. I’ll definitely be back.

    Dear Ms. Ramani,

This Friday I and my friend do a cultural event in an orphanage near Prague, Czech Republic.
We shall read English poems and translation into Czech to children. Then we will make toys.
I understand that the picture was made by your daughter?
I would like to copy it and some other pictures for other nursery rhymes. I would like to show them to the children in the orphanage. Later I would like to put this nice picture (and maybe some other ilustrations) at the web page of my non-profit organisation and give credit to your daughter in law.
I hope you or your daughter in law will not sue me for copyright infringement.

    Kind regards,

    • I selected the image from the thousands found in the Google images.
We are all using them for non profit making purposes.
I do not know the the person who had originally posted it.
In any case I or my daughter in law will not sue you since
it was already there in the Internet.
Good luck with your selfless social service!
may God bless everyone of us!

  6. Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?

I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
